Responsible travel is not a footnote in how we work. It is the foundation. The extraordinary places we take our guests to exist because people have chosen to protect them — often at great personal and financial cost. We believe that travel, done well, is one of the most powerful forces for conservation and cultural preservation that exists.
Whether it is an Antarctic expedition operator committed to zero-impact landings, a Bhutanese lodge that employs only local guides, or a private conservancy in Africa that funds anti-poaching through tourism revenue — we take that responsibility seriously, and we choose our partners accordingly.
Our Commitments
We only work with places that protect.
Every property, expedition operator and experience we recommend is assessed not only for its quality but for its values — its relationship with the land, with local communities, and with the natural and cultural heritage it sits within.
Low volume, high value.
We believe in the low-volume, high-value model of travel. Fewer guests, greater impact, deeper experience. We do not send groups. We do not fill lodges or expedition vessels. We design journeys for individuals and families.
Community and culture.
Wherever possible, we direct guests to locally owned and operated properties, and to experiences that generate direct economic benefit for the communities that host them. Travel should enrich, not extract.
Carbon responsibility.
We work with our guests to understand and offset the carbon footprint of their journeys, directing contributions to verified conservation, reforestation and community energy projects in the regions they visit.
